Hawaii's first Bloomingdale’s department store, currently under construction at Honolulu's Ala Moana Center, will officially open its doors on Nov. 12.
The165,000 square-foot, three-level department store being built along Piikoi Street, near the former Sears location, is a key part of mall owner General Growth Properties' $573 million retail expansion and addition of its new Ewa wing.
When it opens, the full-line department store will offer an extensive roster of brands, some of which will be exclusive to the Bloomingdale’s Hawaii location, including Armani Collezioni, Boutique Moschino, Cami & Jax, Chloe, Ferragamo, Frette bedding, Gucci, Max Mara, Rebecca Taylor, Sandro, Shinola, Tidal, and Aqua, Bloomingdale’s exclusive ready-to-wear line.
A treat station in the store will also offer an assorted variety of locally made products, including Honolulu Cookie Co., Sea Salts of Hawaii, Honey: Big Island Bees and Honolulu Coffee Co.
The Ala Moana Center store will also include special services, such as smart fitting rooms, charging lounges and dining services at its 40 Carrots restaurant.
Other retailers that will join Bloomingdale's in the mall's Ewa wing include Zara; Agent Provocateur, a London-based lingerie boutique; Cafe Lani Hawaii, a bakery and restaurant by Japan’s Pierthirty; Island Slipper; Kay Jewelers; Lorna Jane Active Living, an Australia-based women’s active-wear retailer; Magnolia Bakery, a New York bakery and restaurant, Ninja Sushi and Australian ice cream company Nitrogenie.
