Mustang is a jeanswear and lifestyle brand. The Mustang Group with its nine locations in Europe, Russia and China is headquartered in Künzelsau.
The textile company was founded on 2 May 1932 by Luise Hermann as L. Hermann Kleiderfabrik in Künzelsau in response to the stagnating wood trading business of her husband Heinrich Hermann. In addition to the owner, six seamstresses were employed. The company made professional clothing and equipped the Wehrmacht and the Reichsarbeitsdienst with emergency suits.
The brand Mustang Jeans was introduced and protected by Sefranek in 1958, inspired by the then popular American Way of Life. As a company logo, he chose stylized horses inspired by the Mustang.
